When I heard that the district implemented another semester of virtual learning I was torn. Of course, I think it’s for the best, however, I am sad for my children. That means another semester outside of the classroom and away from their friends. I knew it would be important for me to create fun ways for them to learn and to keep them in good spirits.
We are big on family time and we often incorporate snacks during our time together. The new Sun-Maid® Bites are just the snack we needed! It’s something we all can enjoy, nice and sweet without the high sugars. My kids love s’mores so much and now they can grab a bag of Sun-Maid® Bites and get the same taste in one bite, and without the mess! It’s a must I stock up on my Walmart runs.
I started getting creative with our time together and instead of a board game, we started taking time reading to each other. This is great for the kids because they love to read and discuss the literature afterwards. We started the Beatrice Zinker series and we are learning a lot about taking not so ideal situations and finding a positive! The kids have starting using this thinking to find the sliver lining in their school situation. Beatrice finds creative ways to have fun and she has prompted us to start thinking outside the box. So, now instead of always being at our desk working the kids are choosing days to work outside. We love that Beatrice is very different but she is also sweet just like Sun-Maid® Bites! The two together has been a great addition to our afternoon routine.
Sun-Maid® Bites are an awesome back to school snack. Whether it’s for lunch, after school or a mid-day pick me up, it’s a snack your kids will thank you for. Plus they are super convenient and require no clean up-now that’s a win win! I hope you are finding the silver lining in your back to school situation too. I encourage you to think more like Beatrice and turn your not so ideal moments into a positive. This is a great time to take advantage of more time together. Don’t forget to celebrate small victories and allow yourself room for grace! We are in this together.
