Happy New Year! I took a much needed break from social media while I was off of work with my children for the holidays. We usually bring in the new year with just us. However, this year we did something different. We had a gathering and brought the new year in with some of our closest friends and their children. I have been so blue lately and didn’t feel like being around people for a while. However, I am happy I forced myself to have this party because it was a great time. I am ready to tackle this new decade and do some much needed work on myself.
I still remember going into year 2000 and being terrified. I had no idea what to expect but there was so much talk about blackouts and the world ending. Now here we are, 20 years later. I still don’t know what to expect but I do know I am gearing up to make 2020 a great year. I took a lot of losses in 2019 but I also had a lot of wins. In the end, I am grateful for it all. I thank God for allowing me to be here for each experience and giving me a chance at a fresh start.

I spent the last few weeks really thinking about what I want this year to look like. I’m sure you’ve seen all of the memes about the new year and new focus floating around on social media. But what does any of that mean if we aren’t applying it?Are we really working towards these things or does it just sound good? I have so many goals I want to meet, places I want to go and things I want mark off my check list. However, I refuse to end up burned out before the end of January even rolls around. I also refuse to make this all about me. I really want to work on myself so that I am giving my family my very best and I am able to serve more of you.

If you haven’t already I want you to start really thinking about obtainable things you want to accomplish. If that list is over 3 items, break it down. Post this list on your bathroom mirror, refrigerator and one other place you will see it every day. Put forth an effort to work toward these things every day. Even if you miss a day, week or month working on this pick back up and keep going. Whatever you do just don’t give up. Of course I will ATTEMPT to tackle other goals along the way but I will not stress myself out trying to meet them. For me I have 3 main things I am going to focus on. I know that if I work on these things it will help others as well. Without elaborating too much here is what my year will look like.
- Build a better relationship with God
- Work on my physical and mental health
- Stay consistent with my blog and building my brand
I am speaking it into existence for us all, we are going to do great things this year!!

I like the three areas of focus. I need to soul search and list my three focus points where I can see them everyday.
Thank you so much! Yes, whatever speaks to your soul just do it… over and over again.
